Canon's High-End 35mm lens ss finally on the way.
It seems the way is almost over.
Canon Rumors is reporting that Canon will finally announce an L series 35mm prime lens in early 2024.
The company has had the RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM for a few years now, but fans of the highly respected EF 35mm f/1.4L lenses have been eagerly anticipating the release of a professional-level option with an f/1.4 or even wider aperture.
The question of such an option has always been "when," never "if," as 35mm primes are some of the most treasured options for countless creatives.
The rumored lens is expected to feature an f/1.2 aperture, though not much else is known at this point.
I was a huge fan of the EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM when I reviewed it, and given how Canon has improved on even their most-respected lenses in transitioning to the RF mount (the RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM being a notable example), I expect the RF 35mm to be quite a superlative lens.
Hopefully, we'll hear more soon!
